Mentor Learning & Exchange CPD, October–November 2026

Mentoring takes more than goodwill. It calls for skill, reflection, cultural awareness and continuing professional development (CPD).

Alongside our mentoring programmes at Global Connect, we host Mentor Learning & Exchange, a community space for mentors working across humanitarian, development and purpose-driven sectors. Whether you mentor within one of our programmes or support leaders elsewhere in the sector, it is a place to refine your practice, widen your perspective and mentor with greater impact.

We run sessions regularly and are always open to ideas. If there is a topic you would like us to cover, let us know. Here is what is coming up.

Beyond Resilience: Moral Injury, Leadership and Coaching Resilience

Thursday 22 October 2026 · 1pm UK · 2pm Europe · 3pm Kenya · 5.30pm India · 7pm Thailand

What might be lost if leaders talk only about resilience, wellbeing or stress, and never about moral injury? Anne Kristine Arbon explores what happens when people are asked to act against their values, witness harm, or carry the weight of difficult organisational choices. She will look at how leadership, coaching and mentoring can make space for honesty, meaning and repair.

About the speaker. Anne Kristine Arbon is an executive coach, facilitator and learning and development specialist. She supports individuals, teams and organisations through change, growth and leadership development, with an international background across the humanitarian, private and education sectors. Her work rests on curiosity, practical insight and a belief that coaching helps people think more clearly, reconnect with their strengths and act with purpose. She is accredited by EMCC Global at Senior Practitioner level.

Self-Determining Transformation: Motivation and Effects on Personal and Professional Growth

Wednesday 25 November 2026 · 12pm UK · 1pm Europe · 3pm Kenya · 5.30pm India · 7pm Thailand

This session uses self-determination theory as a framework to guide and enrich mentoring skills and relationships. It explores our basic psychological needs, the different types of motivation, and how these shape behaviour in ways that lead to more, or less, positive change towards our goals.

You will reflect on your own experience and explore ways to support your psychological wellbeing, personal growth, and mental and physical health. You will also leave with ideas for turning this knowledge into more transformative mentoring relationships.

About the speaker. Ariane A. Corradi, PhD, is an expert in socioeconomic development who works where psychology and economics meet. She has more than 20 years’ experience in programme and project design, monitoring and evaluation, capacity development (coaching, mentoring and training), studies and diagnostics. She has published on entrepreneurship, frugal innovation, university–industry relations and work design. Her clients include United Nations organisations, micro and small enterprises, and managers, and she works in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. Ariane has been a strong supporter of, and mentor in, our past programmes.
