By women, for women — growing potential, wherever it lives
Women do some of the most important work in the world, in humanitarian, development and social-impact organisations and are often the least supported, simply because of where they live or work.
A free, facilitated community offering, mentoring, peer support, storytelling and shared learning to women who would otherwise have little access to any of it.
What is Global Women Connect?
A women-only online community working across the humanitarian, development and social-impact sectors. Our theme of storytelling is woven throughout the peer support community, so members’ voices are heard and amplified.
Global Women Connect offers a private, women’s mentoring programme grounded in the EMCC Global Code of Ethics. It builds on our previous experience of running women’s networks and 25 years of mentoring programme delivery.
Who can join?
Women, in all their diversity, are welcome to join Global Women Connect. We focus on mid-career professionals and emerging leaders working in humanitarian, development and social-impact organisations — particularly those based in the Global South or operating in resource-poor or crisis-affected settings — who are typically excluded from traditional leadership opportunities.
An online community:
The heart of Global Women Connect: a private, facilitated, women-only space for peer support, conversation, networking and shared reflection, hosted on LinkedIn.
Storytelling:
Woven through the community as an ongoing thread — members’ own stories, told in their own voices.
A mentoring programme:
Mentee and mentor roles, careful matching, briefing and support sessions throughout. Mentors additionally join a Mentor Learning and Exchange group, with a CPD pathway and supervision.
Future opportunities:
Open to every community member, whether or not they take part in mentoring, with events, learning opportunities and a speaker series planned as the community grows.
